Hair Removal: The Epilator

Hair Removal: THE EPILATOR

By Tamra Cantar

The ultimate hair removal system: (1.) it is quick (2) it is long-term, and
(3) it works as a hair growth inhibitor

Among the multitude of hair-removal and hair-inhibitor products and methodologies none has proven to be as effective as the epilator. There have been many studies done on the above-mentioned products and methods, but because of the short-term investigations none has been proven to be reliable. What we have are empirical short term studies—determined by direct experiments about six months in duration—or theoretical studies based on analysis or hypothesis.

The epilator works. The effectiveness of this technique is proven by its easy applicability and outcome that is long-lasting; therefore the epilator is gaining in popularity. It is about the size of an electric razor and it also functions using electricity. It operates on the principle of tweezers by rolling the device over unwanted hair on any part of the body it grasps and clears away the unwanted hair. To reiterate, the epilator can be used on any part of the body: bikini line, underarm, legs in front and back, or in fact on parts of the face.

The epilator obliterates the hair at the roots leaving the skin smooth and soft. The hair follicles begin to grow at a very slow rate allowing for a period of 10 days or even 2-3 weeks before the hair even begins to show. The epilator is recommended for people whose tendency is to grow hair rapidly and show stubbles within a short time after shaving, but the epilator method retards hair growth.

The best time to use the epilator is after a hot shower or bath. The heat opens the pores and the roots of the hair are relaxed; it is easier and least painful to remove the unwanted hair. However, the epilator must be kept away from water; it is an electric device.

If you are not used to an electric razor it might seem difficult to master the efficient utilization of the epilator, however if you follow the steps below you will be able to use it like a pro.

Here are tips for the most efficient way of applying the epilator:

· Tighten the skin over the area to be cleared of unwanted hair, and hold it down. The epilator will grasp every protruding thing including loose skin should you not hold the skin down.

· Do not rush! You will sense as the epilator clasps onto the hair follicles as it will thoroughly clear the area of unwanted hair; and you will feel proud to have done such a thorough and splendid hair removal job.

· Unlike shaving where the razor works against the grain or growth of the hair, the epilator functions best if it held in the direction of the hair growth. Another superlative result is that there will be no red bumps, swelling or contusion, at the root of the hair as opposed to shaving and/or waxing.

· Nonetheless, the skin will be somewhat sensitive and it will be advisable to soothe the skin with a mineral oil. A lotion of any kind may be loaded with chemical agents therefore it is best to keep away from such skin treatments; they can cause rashes and irritate the skin.

· Furthermore, the epilator must be cleaned after usage; wipe it with a wet cloth. If the loose hair is not immediately removed it can dry and clog the sensitive mechanism of the epilator.

Without any discomfort and miserable side effects the epilator is captivating and enthralling; once you use it the conventional modes of shaving and waxing, etc. will not appeal to your comfort zone. The epilator is quick, long-term, with lasting results without painful contusions and other damaging methods for your sensitive skin. There is no better time than the present to give it a try. The only thing you have to lose is your unsightly unwanted hair.
